Tuna Wrap

8/6/2018

The quickest and easiest meal for on the go, tuna wrap. It's hand held, packed with protein and vegetables to keep you full and satisfied. The ingredients are simple and easy, with all of maybe a ten minute prep time you are ready to eat!

Ingredients:
1 can of tuna in water
1 hand full of spinach
1/2 sliced red onion
Sliced carrots
1 whole wheat wrap
Hot sauce
Avocado mayo
Sliced black olives

Instructions:
In a bowl mix your tuna with 1/2 tbsp of mayo and add hot sauce according to your liking. Slice up your red onion, and begin to build your wrap. Lay down your whole wheat wrap first, with spinach to follow, red onion and carrots. Put your tuna on top of the vegetables and top that with olives. Wrap it all up and you're ready to go!

Daily Rituals for Weight Loss

8/3/2018

Staying healthy is always the main priority. While eating right and exercising are another topic, I find there are certain habits I do daily that truly keep me healthy and contribute to weight loss. My morning ritual consist of a multi vitamin with my probiotic, water with lemon and black coffee. My evening regimen consists of green tea, or camomile tea, with activated charcoal. While neither my morning or night routines are some kind of weight loss or health secret, they keep my body in check.

Morning:
Multi Vitamin
Probiotic
Water with lemon
Black coffee

Evening:
Green tea/Camomile tea
Activated charcoal

One of the first things I do when I wake up in the morning is have an 8 ounce glass of water with lemon in it, preferably room temperature. This helps to wake up your body, start your metabolism and its one of the best things to give your organs before you ingest anything else. After this, comes my multi-vitamin and my probiotic. Both I find super important and I can actually feel the difference on the days that I forget to take them (which doesn't happen too often). Followed by my black coffee which gives me my boost of energy to start off my day.

In the evening I enjoy tea to help calm my body down before bed, which would be the camomile or to give me a bit more energy in the evening, which would be the green tea. The activated charcoal is a great additive before bed as a way to cleanse your system.

Combined, my morning and evening rituals contribute to keeping me on track and weight loss. Before I had added in my probiotic and activated charcoal, I was constantly bloated and felt like the weight around my mid section wouldn't budge. Now, I don't have that issue at all. And  I mean it, at all. Both are so useful in cleansing your system and getting rid of the toxins your body holds on to that gives you that bloat and sluggish feeling.

I recommend a multi-vitamin and probiotic to all of my clients along with tea time once a day. Tea is a natural diuretic which also helps with the "cleansing" aspect, but also gives you that boost of energy and curbs your appetite. This is not a lose weight fast guide, or secret of any kind but the perfect way to keep your body balanced without all the junk.

BirchBox Review

Reviews are sweeping the internet letting everyone know your full opinion of any product, restaurant and hotel. Yelp, for example or Google have allowed all of us to be a critic. Product reviews are so important when you are looking into buying a subscription because its a monthly delivery. Of course you can cancel at any time, but I like to do my research before I dive in.

I was looking for a monthly subscription that would give me samples of new makeup, hair and skin products. BirchBox seemed to be the best fit for me, so I got my first box in December as a little Christmas gift to myself. So what's my review? Well 9 months later, I'm still getting my monthly delivery. What I love is that when you sign up you tell them all about yourself like your skin type, hair type, preferences, your skills level. But the best part is that they actually listened! All of the products I got were things I've wanted to try or brands I've wanted to try. You get 5 new products each month with an explanation of each, along with the price of the full size product.

So my honest review? I say go for it. Treat yourself once a month with new products that might become your next favorite. My face wash and lotion I use daily are thanks to my BirchBox. With a small monthly price, I don't see why not! Try it out yourself

Homemade Antipasto Salad

8/1/2018

I was searching through Pinterest recently looking for some new healthy recipes. In this New York summer heat, anything light and fresh is the way to go. Unless I am making food on the grill, I typically don't cook much. I rather go for fun salads, grilled meats and veggies, and shakes. I wanted a salad recipe that was delicious but still gave me everything I was looking for in a meal.

Antipasto salad is one of my favorites. I have always been more of a salty girl rather then sweet. Antipasto can be made with so many different items making it the salad that you love. After food shopping, the recipe itself took no longer then 20 minutes to put together. It made a huge serving which is perfect for a family, to bring to a bbq, or to eat through out your work week.

Ingredients:
Provolone cheese
Mini tomatoes
Red onion
Salami
Pepperoni
Sopressata
Copicollo
Black olives
Green olives
Olive oil
Ground pepper
Artichoke hearts
Button mushrooms
Whole wheat pasta

Ingredients explained:
-For the deli meats, you can pick whichever you like. I chose a appetizer box that was on sale and more cost efficient that came with 4 meats, including salami, sopressata, pepperoni and copicollo. But you can add or switch any out like ham, turkey, prosciutto or any other of your favorites.
-For the vegetables added I chose some of my favorites, but you can also add cucumbers, roasted red peppers, and eggplant.
-My salad consists of whole wheat pasta which can be swapped out for lettuce/mixed greens, barley, couscous, or quinoa.

Directions:
Putting this salad together is pretty simple. Since all of the ingredients are already pre-made other than your pasta, all you need to do is cut and slice, adding all of the ingredients to a large bowl with ground pepper and olive oil. That's it, you are ready to enjoy!
